Thrizer is a modern payment application for therapists and therapy-goers. The platform integrates with health insurances, so you are automatically reimbursed for your out-of-network therapy costs by your insurance after an appointment.
We automate and improve the out-of-network process for you so that you can focus on what matters.
How does Thrizer work?
Thrizer works by acting as a payment method that links with your health insurance. You can think of us like a PayPal for therapy.
Use Thrizer to pay for your out-of-network therapy sessions. Any time you pay for an appointment, a claim is submitted to your insurance directly. All claims are easily tracked from your Thrizer account and managed by our expert team. Once you meet your deductible (if any) you will only be charged a co-pay for your therapy sessions, rather than paying the full fee. If you prefer to continue to pay in full and wait for reimbursements, you have that option as well.
How much does Thrizer cost?
Thrizer is a flat 5% fee (of your provider's rate) if you want to pay your co-pay at the time of the appointment. This fee is added on to your co-pay at the time of payment.
If you prefer to pay in full and wait for reimbursements, Thrizer is totally free!
What are out-of-network benefits?

Similar to in-network benefits, out-of-network benefits will typically will include a deductible and a co-insurance or copay. The amount of coverage for out-of-network benefits varies depending on the insurance plan.
With out-of-network services, you will need to pay your provider's fee and then wait for your insurance to reimburse you in part or in full for the service.

How do I know if I have out-of-network benefits?
Once you enter your insurance information in their Thrizer account, the platform runs an automatic OON benefit check. You will receive an email breakdown of the benefits, which include the deductible amount, co-insurance, and estimated reimbursement amount.
Alternatively, you can email our support team the client's insurance card and we can check benefits for you as well!
What is a deductible?
A deductible is a set amount of money that you must pay out-of-pocket for healthcare services before your insurance coverage begins to pay for those services.
Once you meet your deductible, your insurance plan will start covering some or all of the costs of the covered healthcare services you receive. The amount of the deductible can vary depending on the insurance plan and may be set annually or per-benefit period.
Your deductible for out-of-network services is separate than your in-network deductible, and only out-of-network services will work towards this deductible.
What is the estimated reimbursement rate and where does that come from?
The estimated reimbursement rate is calculated from the your co-insurance and "allowed rate" for out-of-network mental health services. These quotes are just estimates based on our data and experience with insurances and their allowed amounts for different services.
What is an allowed rate?
The allowed rate is the maximum amount that the your insurance will accept and reimburse for a specific medical service. It is not necessarily the same as the amount that your provider charges for therapy.
Allowed rates vary by insurance company and insurance plan, and are generally decided on a per-case basis at the time of the first claim.
Do I need to submit claims myself?
Nope! Insurance claims for your appointment are automatically generated and submitted to the client's insurance upon your successful appointment charge! No further action is needed from their end or your end.
