Our mission is to make therapy more accessible without compromising therapist wellbeing

Let’s kill a myth. Therapists who go private pay aren’t selfish. They’re not “abandoning” clients. They’re not elitist. And they’re definitely not villains for refusing to play a losing game with insurance companies. Therapists, you deserve to make choices that allow you to thrive. It’s not your job to take on the burden of a failing system.

Sanjana Sathya
Co-Founder, Thrizer

We want clinicians to feel empowered to charge their full private pay rate, while clients confidently rely on their out-of-network benefits to save on therapy

the Problem

Superbills suck.

Out-of-network benefits are helpful, but superbills are clunky, unreliable, and time-consuming to navigate. As a result, most clients struggle to get successfully reimbursed.
the Solution

Thrizer is solving the biggest pain points in the out-of-network benefits process

No more superbills

Automatic claim submissions are the future. There is no reason clients need to struggle just to get started.

No more insurance calls

When clients are already overwhelmed, the last thing they want to do is deal with insurance.

No more reimbursement waits

Clients shouldn’t have to wait 6+ weeks for a reimbursement check. They should be able to save instantly while clinicians also get their full rate upfront.

We are not backed by venture capitalists like other mental health companies

We are a small, bootstrapped, and values-driven company. Our founders Raunak and Sanjana are longtime therapy goers who got fed up with superbills and decided to do something about it. We have not accepted any venture capital funding. Because we want to maintain control over our vision, values, and pricing. Because we want to build with intention and care without the pressure to grow at all costs. In a sea of VC-backed mental health startups, we hope it's a breath of fresh air for therapists and clients.

Our Values

Our guiding principles towards our mission

Empathy

Empathy is at the heart of everything we do. We actively seek to understand both therapists and clients, ensuring everything we build directly addresses their most pressing pain points. We don’t just listen - we internalize the frustrations of navigating a broken system. We continuously gather feedback to evolve our product and operations in step with their needs.

Innovation

We don’t believe in “good enough.” Sure, clients can use their out-of-network benefits - but why should they wait 6+ weeks for a reimbursement check? How do they afford next week’s session? We ask the hard questions and reject the status quo, bringing bold, practical solutions no one else is trying. The mental health crisis won’t be solved by doing more of the same.

Get-It-Done

With limited resources and big goals, we approach our work with scrappiness, creativity, and a deep sense of personal responsibility. Every team member is empowered to act like an owner: rolling up their sleeves, showing up where they are most needed, and doing the often unglamorous work with patience and attention-to-detail. We are proud of our team: driven, mission-aligned, and deeply motivated and passionate to make a real impact within the therapy world.

Resilience

Insurance isn’t an easy world to navigate. They change policies, they deny claims, and they take advantage of hardworking clinicians and hopeful clients. But we won’t back down. Our mission is too important to let challenges hold us back. We’re committed to pushing through the tough moments, learning from our setbacks, and coming back stronger every time.
