How to explain Thrizer to your clients

I'd like to share a resource that I think will be very helpful for you to pay for and save money on our sessions.

It is called Thrizer, a resource that handles the out-of-network (OON) process automatically for you. They will take care of submitting and managing your OON claims for you, so you don't have to worry about submitting superbills. Once you meet your deductible, you also have the option to pay a reduced fee for our sessions, instead of needing to pay my full rate and waiting for a reimbursement check.

We will first check to confirm you have out-of-network benefits. If so, I will use Thrizer's payment platform to charge you for our sessions and automatically submit OON claims for you.

How to get started:

  1. Please use this link to check whether you have out-of-network benefits in your insurance plan: <INSERT YOUR UNIQUE WIDGET LINK>. I am also happy to check for you if you share over an image of your insurance card and your date of birth.

  2. Once we confirm you have OON benefits, I will invite you as a client from my Thrizer portal

  4. Once you are set up, I will charge you via Thrizer for our appointments moving forward

Please note: Once you meet your deductible, they charge a 5% fee (of my rate) if you would like to pay a reduced rate; you will pay that fee at the time of our session along with your reduced fee. If you are okay paying my full rate and waiting for reimbursement, you can choose that route instead for a 1% fee. That fee gets deducted from the reimbursement that comes to your bank account once the claim is approved. If you are still working towards a deductible, you do not pay any fees.

Adding Thrizer to Your Consent Forms

After joining Thrizer, most therapists continue using their existing onboarding flows with clients via their EHR. Feel free to keep your consent forms and credit card authorization form process the same.

If you'd like to include Thrizer on your forms, feel free to leverage and customize this language:

"By your electronic signature of this form, you authorize Thrizer to handle out-of-network billing (such as benefit checks and claim submissions) and to charge your payment method for services rendered.

These charges will appear on your bank/credit card statement as Thrizer."
