The introduction of Thrizer Pay was a big step forward in 2023 by helping reduce the upfront cost for out-of-network therapy. It has helped thousands of therapists make their services more accessible without sacrificing their income.

While there has been a benefits calculator within the clinician portal, therapists have been asking for a way for clients to verify their out-of-network benefits directly on their website. It was our most requested feature, by far.

How clients verified their out-of-network benefits before Thrizer

Let’s take a step back. Before Thrizer, clients would need to call their insurance company to verify their out-of-network benefits, which puts the burden on them. If you’ve ever called an insurance company, then you know it could be hours and you could be transferred multiple times before you get the answer you’re looking for.

If they did get through to someone, they would need to understand confusing terms like out-of-network deductible, coinsurance, and allowed amount. Overwhelmed by the process, many clients don’t even take the first step, leaving money on the table.

Introducing the Thrizer Widget

Therapists can now embed the Thrizer Widget on their website for free so clients can check their out-of-network benefits before reaching out, saving therapists time. Therapists can also create a sharable link to include in their email signatures and directory profiles.

Clients simply enter their insurance carrier, member ID, and date of birth and it instantly verifies their out-of-network benefits, including whether out-of-network mental health benefits are available, deductible amounts and remaining balances, and estimated costs for out-of-network services.
